John Lanterman is a planner and landscape architect with 26 years of experience in traditional town planning, comprehensive planning, urban design, and landscape architecture. His broad range of experience as a planning consultant for private land development projects and public improvements throughout the United States provides a unique perspective for each new project. He has the ability to develop plans that are responsive to both clients needs and technical issues.
Mr. Lanterman brings a commitment to the design process that includes public involvement as a means to ensuring the needs of the client and the community are met. He understands the diverse issues confronting current planning projects, including the need to work closely with owners and surrounding interests, while allowing a framework for development. His interests in understanding the site context, developing timeless solutions to current issues, and creating livable communities and vibrant, functional environments are reflected throughout his work.
Mr. Lanterman has expertise at all levels of private land development, including, Traditional Neighborhood Design, community design, public sector planning, urban design and landscape architecture. His expertise ranges from city and county comprehensive plans and large master planned communities to site planning for intensive in-fill projects. He has prepared comprehensive plans and site specific design solutions for mixed use projects, residential communities, commercial and resort projects.
John is recognized for his abilities to facilitate large public meetings, often in emotional situations regarding land development proposals and comprehensive planning. His skill to engage audiences, work through issues, keep the discussion on point, and come to resolution is well respected in both public and private arenas.
